A Little Fabric Declutter to Start the Year
A close look at a few pieces of cotton print fabric I found while organizing, in warm tones and floral patterns.
The world feels heavy right now, and it has made it a little harder for me to show up on Instagram the way I usually do. It just feels strange to post like everything is normal.
Because of all that, I’ve been trying to keep my focus on things at home that feel steady and familiar. January is usually when I start tidying up anyway, so I just leaned into that routine. Cleaning up a few corners has helped more than I expected, and it reminded me how good it feels to reset my space a little.
I always do a bit of decluttering around this time of year, and getting the Christmas decor put away made me want to bring that same feeling into my sewing table too. My fabric stash has been growing, and this feels like a good time to use what I already have.
I found a small stash of cotton print fabric that I usually use for linings, and I want to turn some of these pieces into a few small things before my new fabric gets here. These cuts have been sitting for a while, saved for later, and this feels like a good moment to finally use them. My new fabric will not arrive until the end of the month, so this is a nice window to work through these older pieces.
In the next few days I’m going to see what I can make out of these small pieces of fabric. Nothing big, just a couple of simple projects. I’ll share some of them on Instagram, and I’ll list them in my shop once they’re done.
Thank you for being here and watching my small business grow.
