Fall has been slowly taking over my sewing table these past few weeks.
I’ve been reaching for warmer colors, soft textures, and prints that feel just right for this time of year. I’ve been sewing these pieces a little at a time, but trying to turn every small batch into a weekly shop update started to feel like too much. I’d rather take my time, let the pieces come together naturally, and share them in one fuller update.
I started the season with Terracotta Bloom, a soft double gauze floral in those warm, earthy colors I always seem to gravitate toward in the fall. I made several different pouch styles from it, and I love how soft and cozy the finished bags feel.
I also wanted to add a few smaller pieces for fall, so I made a new group of lanyards, key fobs, and keychains in autumn colors. There’s a mix of florals, plaids, polka dots, and warm shades of ginger, brown, saffron, and rust. They’re an easy little way to bring some fall color into your everyday things.
And now there are a few more bags joining them.
Oat, Brick & Tiny Rust Flowers
Oat is one of those fabrics I keep coming back to. It’s simple, warm, and neutral, and it seems to work in every season.
For fall, I paired it with Brick, a deeper rusty linen that brings in a little more color while still feeling earthy and natural.
And then there’s Tiny Rust Flowers.
I originally bought the fabric to use as a lining in some of my Oat and Brick bags. It has a creamy background with the smallest rust-colored flowers scattered across it, and I loved the way it looked with both linen colors.
After I finished using it for the linings, I still had some fabric left. Instead of tucking it away or using it as a lining again, I thought it would be fun to turn things around and put the print on the outside.
So I made a few quilted pouches from Tiny Rust Flowers.
Seeing all three together—Oat, Brick, and Tiny Rust Flowers—is probably my favorite part. The little rust flowers pick up the color of the Brick linen, while the creamy background looks so pretty next to Oat. They can stand on their own, but they also make it easy to mix and match different pouches.
A New Rhythm for Shop Updates
One small change I want to share is that I’m moving away from weekly shop updates. Trying to sew, photograph, list, and email about something new every week started to feel like too much, and I also don’t want to fill your inbox with weekly release emails.
Going forward, I’ll be gathering new pieces and restocks into one larger shop update about once a month, whenever the work is ready. Email subscribers will still hear the details first, but the pace will be slower and more manageable for me.
The new Oat, Brick, and Tiny Rust Flowers pieces are part of this first larger update, and they’re available in the shop now.
And there’s still more fall sewing happening over here. I have some larger florals on my sewing table right now that I’ve been excited to work with. I’m taking my time with those, but I’ll have more to share soon.
For now, I’m enjoying seeing all these fall colors together and giving myself a little more time to make and share each group of pieces thoughtfully.
